There are 158 pages of which 30 are in full color. 192 colours and standards are illustrated in full color, most of which are based on Olof Hoffman´s drawings of model/1686 in the Swedish War Archives. Where an illustration does not exist in The War Archives, reconstructions have been done based on extensive research in the Swedish Archives and other literature. There are 800 descriptions of Swedish uniforms, as well as 300 descriptions of Danish, Norwegian, Saxon and Russian uniforms. There are 65 color illustrations of different uniforms. In addition to the history of the different regiments, the colours and the uniforms, there are informative chapters on traditional views, uniform models, badges of rank and other distinctions, headgear, field music, spiritual guidance, military justice and regulations, combat methods, burgher militia, general levy, temporary units, flags and flag decorators.

There are 74 pages of which 8 are in color covering the uniforms, colours and standards of the Swedish Army during the Scanian War 1675-1679. Some 84 colours and standards are illustrated in color, as well as 20 color illustrations of uniforms. 4. Great Northern War 1700-1721 , II. Sweden's Allies and Enemies. Colours and Uniforms.

This volume covers the armies of Russian, Denmark-Norway, Saxony, Prussia, Hanover and Holstein-Gottorp. There are 28 pages in color containing 329 colour plates. This new book continues the superb standard set by the authors’ previouswork on the Swedish army of the Great Northern War. The coverage starts with the the Danish, Norwegian and Holstein-Gottorp armies covering regimental histories, uniform details and those all-important flags. There are over 65 colour illustrations of flags in this section alone.

The next section gives the most comprehensive description availiable in English of the Russian army of the period. The research was done in collaboration with Russian correspondents and includes details of the Russian auxiliary corp serving with the Saxon army from 1704 to 1706 and the Russian army in Finland. The text is well supported by a large number of full colour illustration of uniforms and flags, including a large number of Steltsi colours.The next subject is the Saxon army Augustus the Strong. Once again all the information required by the wargamer and uniformoligist is presented in a clear an accessible format supported by superb full colour illustrations. The book is completed by a study of the Prussian and Hanoverian forces that participated in the campaigns of the final years war.
