Note: This battle was essentially a meeting engagement with Swedish troops arriving on the battlefield at different times. It is uncertain how many actually participated, but the units above are shown as participants in Pufendorf (Konung Carl X Gustafs Bragder) and Carlbom (Tre Dagars Slaget vid Warschau). The individual unit strength figures have been taken from Jerzy Teodorczyk's chapter, "Czarnieckis vinterfälttåg januari-februari 1656. Slaget vid Golab", in Polens Krig med Sverige 1655-1660, Carl X Gustaf-Studier 5. I believe them to be on the high side, as they are based on unit strength figures from five months or more previous to the battle. Carlbom indicates that the Swedes numbered 3,000, which is probably on the low side. A 25% to 33% reduction in unit strengths is probably close, which gives the Swedish units a total strength of 4,000 to 4,500. Pufendorf and Carlbom both show dragoons on the Swedish side, but I have been unable to find any reference to a specific unit. Perhaps, these were part of one of the cavalry regiments, which was not uncommon.
